Renee Verhoeven's graduation project at ArtEZ explores the relationship between function and materialization, anatomy and mobility, in a series of gloves. Verhoeven explains, "Products generally are constructed in layers, each having its own function. These functions are quite often made invisible by techniques that are applied on a microscopic scale."
Renee's work is the exact example of the process I wish to show through my exhibition. The functionality of a garment of often hidden however I wish to show this to the public in its true beauty, flaws and all. I hope it will show the beauty in function and the beauty in the effort made to product the final product.
